Phyllis M. Stifle

Phyllis M. Stifle, age 85, of Council Bluffs passed away November 14, 2015 at the Westmont Care Center in Logan, Iowa. She was born June 29, 1930 to the late Lloyd and Ethel Smith. Phyllis graduated from Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospitals Nurses Program with the class of 1952 and then later operated Country View Nursery. She was a member of East Side Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Everett and Ben Smith. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 65 years, Martin Stifle; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Raymond Bill Stevens; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Betsy Stifle; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence Butch and Joyce Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Harold Singbeil, Leora and Darrell Hard; 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Wednesday 1:00p.m. at the funeral home followed by a luncheon in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Private family burial will be later that afternoon in the Lewis Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to East Side Christian Church.
