Richard E. "Dick" Thompson

Richard E. "Dick" Thompson, age 81, passed away September 22, 2021.

He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on September 3, 1940, to the late Levi and Margaret (Munchrath) Thompson. Dick graduated from St. Francis High School and retired from OPPD. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy "Kat" Thompson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hagen-Thompson; brother, Raymond Thompson.

Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gretchen Thompson; children, Jeff Thompson, Mark Thompson, Jennifer Thompson (Lillian Harmon) and Julie Thompson; siblings, Charles "Chuck" Thompson (Sharry), Mary Lybarger (Joe) and John Thompson (Theresa); 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday September 26, 2021, from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary recitation at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Monday September 27, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. Interment is in Garner Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
