Richard J. Andersen

Richard J. Andersen, age 84, of Underwood, Iowa passed away at his home on May 21, 2018.

He was born March 1, 1934 to the late Jens and Ellen (Lauritsen) Andersen. Richard graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1952 and was a career electrician, retiring from IBEW Local 22. Richard was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church near Neola, Iowa. He was very active in the local and regional music circuit.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Jean Thomas and Elsie Lehmer.

Richard is survived by his wife, Harriette Andersen; sons, Steve Andersen, Rick Andersen (Diane) and James Andersen (Karin); sister, Ruth Cody; brother, Harold Andersen; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Thursday May 31, 2018 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorial service is 2:00p.m. on Friday June 1, 2018 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church near Neola, Iowa.
