Robert "Bob" Spitznagle

Robert "Bob" Spitznagle, age 72, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2022. He was born January 12, 1950 to John A. and Florice (Sutton) Spitznagle in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Robert graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969. After high school he attended Southwestern Community College on a baseball scholarship. He was a member of First Christian Church in Council Bluffs. Robert enjoyed all sports especially Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs and the New York Yankees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Joyce Smith; brothers-in-law, Larry Shinn, Donald Cox and Bud Harker.

Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Cox-Spitznagle; step-children, Stacey (Patrick) Politte and Brandon Cox (Abby Beckley); sisters, Sandra Cox Harker and Julie Shinn; granddaughters, Zoe, Lucy and Wynter; nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, February 06, 2022.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

A private family burial will be held at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The family will direct memorials to one of Robert's favorite charities that he gave to every month.
