Robert D. "Bob" Miller, age 66, passed away at his home in Bellevue, Nebraska on January 20, 2019.
He was born in Sedalia, Missouri on September 20, 1952 to Robert and Ethel Miller. They moved to Independence, Iowa when he was a child, and later to Council Bluffs when he was 11 years old. Bob graduated from Lewis Central High School with the class of 1970, and went on to earn a degree in Science from UNO in 1974.
He married his first wife, Ronda, on September 20, 1979, and they moved to New York in 1984. Ronda passed away in January of 2012. They were married 33 years. Bob returned to Council Bluffs in April of 2017. He married Jaci on January 18, 2018. He worked for Mutual of Omaha for 10 years and New York Life 35 years. Bob loved his coin, art, pewter, and beer stein collections. He was kind, thoughtful, funny, caring, and giving. Everyone liked him. He was always just a phone call away.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jaci Miller; step-children, Eric Conwell of New York, Kristin Saxena and her husband Shikhar, of Omaha, NE, Steven Schlautman and his wife Adrienne, of West Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren; father, Robert Miller; sisters, Sandra Hanna and her husband Danny, of Tabor, Iowa, Becky Williams, of Fayette, Iowa; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial service is Monday, 5 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home with the visitation the hour prior to the service. Memorials are directed to the Nebraska Medicine Buffett Cancer Center.
