Robert Edward Poe

Robert Edward. Poe, age 69, of Council Bluffs passed away July 13, 2016. He was born on a farm in Harrison County, Iowa on September 14, 1946 to the late Edward and Dorothy (Shepard) Poe. Bob graduated from Woodbine Community High School with the class of 1965 and the CE School of Commerce in 1967. Bob had lived in Council Bluffs since 1967. He worked as a financial counselor at St. Joseph Hospital, Creighton University Medical Center, Jennie Edmundson Hospital and Creighton Medical Associates where he retired from in 2011. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and being outdoors, especially in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He was a member of First Christian Church. Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Mary Poe; daughter, Renea Fields and her husband Johnny; son, Jason Reed and his wife, Tressie; step-children, Melissa Gdowski and Tony Bremholm; sisters, Betty Neel, Connie Kline and her husband Curt, Sharron Kindred; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Hoy-KIlnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
