Roger Roy Swanger

Roger R. Swanger, age 76, of Council Bluffs passed away at his home on November 17, 2014. He was born in Council Bluffs on July 14, 1938 to the late Roy & Vera (Sales) Swanger. He was with the class of 1957 at Abraham Lincoln High School and then worked as a carpenter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Karlene Swanger; brother, Jerry Swanger; sister, Kathleen Kirk. Roger is survived by his wife, Dee Swanger; daughters, Kimberly Swanger and Karene Christenson (Tim); step-son, Bradley Hansen (Sue); step-daughter, Renee Goss (Brian); sister, Linda Ahlman (Biff); brother, Robert Swanger (Claire); grandchildren and step grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. Visitation will start at 5PM on Thursday with a Celebration of his life and special remarks beginning at 6:30PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home on Friday 11:30AM and go in procession to the Hazel Dell Cemetery for a 12PM graveside service and then return to the funeral home for a luncheon. The family will direct memorials.
