Scott E. Davis, age 66, passed away May 13, 2023.
He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on January 5, 1957, to Rex and Shirley (Swaney) Davis.
Scott graduated from Shelby Tennant Community School with the class of 1975. While in high school, he worked at the Embers. In 1976, he was hired by the Union Pacific Railroad and became a boilermaker. He worked there until the Omaha Shops Complex was closed. After that he worked as a cabinet maker in downtown Omaha for a short time and then spent the rest of his life as a self-employed carpenter.
Scott was very involved and was a faithful member at Harvest of Hope Church in Harlan, Iowa. He participated in Lewis and Clark re-enactments, and built and flew radio-controlled aircraft. Scott was a self-taught banjo player and raised exotic birds.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Davis.
Scott is survived by his sons, Jesse Davis (Mariah) and Cody Davis (Sabrina); father, Rex Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Ronda Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Larry Manz; grandchildren, Skye Davis and Jeremiah Davis; a host of other friends, family, and customers.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 18, 2023, at the Harvest of Hope Church - 1146 Hwy 59 in Harlan, Iowa. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
