Shirley Mae Runte

Shirley M. Runte, age 84, passed away March 17, 2019.

She was born near Underwood, Iowa on September 24, 1934 to the late Herman and Dollie (Wilson) Claussen. Shirley graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1952 and then retired from the City of Council Bluffs Finance Department. She was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Runte and brother, Floyd E. Claussen.

Shirley is survived by her children, Terri Kube (Richard), David Runte, Dewey Runte (Gary), William Runte (Stacey); sisters, Margaret Mulligan, Marjorie DeBoer and Barbara Henry; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Prayer service is 5:00 p.m. followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment is in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
