Tommy "Tom" Carpenter

Tommy Dwayne Carpenter died unexpectedly at home on January 28th, 2022 in Council Bluffs, IA at the age of 67. Tom is survived by his Mother Marilyn Hearrell (Carpenter) of Beaumont, TX. His beloved wife Deborah Carpenter of Council Bluffs, IA. Brother Jim (Trish) Carpenter of Beaumont, TX. His children, Brian (Beth) Carpenter of Council Bluffs, IA and Kristina (Jeremy) Holt of Council Bluffs, IA. His Grandchildren, Michaela Carpenter of Kearney, NE; Nicole, Benjamin and Samantha Carpenter of Council Bluffs, IA; Ashlyn and Kaylie Holt of Council Bluffs, IA; His Great Granddaughter, Averlee Holt-Aparo of Council Bluffs, IA. He is preceded in death by his father, Orville Carpenter of Omaha, TX. Tom was born on February 15th,1954 in Mount Pleasant, TX to Orville Carpenter and Marilyn Hearrell.

After completing his apprenticeship in pipe fitting, he found and married the love of his life Deborah Carpenter (Boots) in Cedar Rapids, IA on December 4th, 1976. The couple welcomed two children into their home completing their family in 1982. His family remember him as a patient, kind-hearted, giving, respectable, honorable, gentle but firm, and very loving husband, father, son, and brother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and remember who they were. Tom was an extraordinary man with many abilities and skill sets able to teach well and loved what he did. He is remembered most for his love for God. The memories of him praying for his family and being a strong spiritual support are the most precious, that will forever stay with them.

A memorial service is scheduled for Sat. Feb 5th at 2:00 p.m. with Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Creekside Church, 3320 Harry Langdon Blvd., Council Bluffs, IA. Reverend Jay Waller, My Father’s House will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom’s life. Monetary support is appreciated for the surviving spouse.
