Tracy Lee

June 5, 1966 — September 29, 2024

Tracy (Otterstedt) Lee, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, at the age of 58. Born on June 5, 1966, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Tracy filled her life with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that touched everyone around her.

In 1986, Tracy's life took a serendipitous turn when she met her soulmate, Greg, on a blind date. Their love story culminated in a vibrant "rock and roll" wedding at Memorial Park in Omaha on June 18, 1988. Together, they created a warm and loving home, where music played a central role. Tracy cherished watching Greg play drums in his band, and live music became a joyful backdrop to their life together.

Tracy's journey took her to Colorado for a time, but she eventually returned to Council Bluffs, where she continued to nurture her growing family. She welcomed her daughter, Alex, on August 7, 1997, and her son, Nick, on August 3, 2002. Tracy's pride in her children was boundless; she delighted in watching them grow and thrive, attending every game and event, cheering them on. She also loved watching her beloved Michigan Wolverines.

Family was the cornerstone of Tracy's life. She remained close with her mother and two sisters, fostering bonds that were both strong and nurturing. As a self-proclaimed homebody, Tracy found joy in cozy movie nights, engaging TV series, and challenging puzzles. Her infectious laugh could light up any room, and she was often the first to laugh at her own jokes, spreading joy to all who knew her.

Tracy's compassion extended beyond her family; she dedicated many years to her work at the Methodist Community Clinic in Omaha, where she formed deep connections with her patients and their families. Her kindness and warmth made a lasting impact on those she cared for.

An avid birdwatcher and photography enthusiast, Tracy loved spending time outdoors, especially near water. Whether biking along scenic trails or simply enjoying nature's beauty, she found solace and inspiration in the world around her. Tracy also had a passion for food, delighting in cooking, baking, and sharing meals with loved ones.

Throughout her life, Tracy embraced her pets as cherished family members. She fondly remembered her childhood dog, Rusty, and later welcomed dogs Gypsy, Max, and Sophie into her heart. Most recently, she adored her current dog, Stella, and her "grand" dog, Oliver, both of whom brought her immense joy.

Tracy is survived by her husband, Greg; daughter Alex; son Nick; her mother; two sisters; nieces and nephews; and a multitude of other family and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and laughter.
