Velda M. Walker

Velda M. Walker passed away March 2, 2014 at the Hospice with Hearts Hospice House in Glenwood. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on December 28, 1950 to the late James & Opal Walker. She retired from Nebraska Methodist Health Systems as a medical coder. She held membership in the American Association of Medical Coders and the Metro Local Coders Association among other organizations. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura McFarland; sister, Mary Adams; former husband, Larry McFarland. Velda is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Sales & Lisa Gonzales, Jamie & Alice Sales, Todd & Mindi Sales; daughter, Chelsea McFarland; step-daughter, Barb McFarland Boner; brothers, James Walker and Joe Dirt Walker (Sue); former husband, Sonny Sales; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in the Garner Township Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
