Vernon "Vern" Pomerleau

Vernon "Vern" Pomerleau, age 62, passed away October 29, 2022. He was born December 16, 1960 to Henry and Marjorie Pomerleau in Sacramento, CA.

He resided in Council Bluffs, IA for majority of his life. There, he graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1979, and graduated from Iowa Western Community College. He got a job at the Federal Reserve Bank and worked his way up to lead trainer and was awarded for his 25 years at the bank. Vern enjoyed the company of family and friends around the card table, watching football, landscaping his yard, a hot cup of coffee, trips to Vegas, bike riding, and making others laugh. He passed away peacefully with his children at his bedside in Austin, TX.

He was preceded in death by his mother, in 2013.

Vern is survived by his children; son Bruce & daughter-in-law Taylor Pomerleau; daughter Melissa Pomerleau; grandson Keaton Pomerleau; brother Vince Pomerleau; sisters, Nancy Brightwell and Sharon Stewart; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, December 4, 2022. The family will direct memorials. Interment is in Hazel Dell Cemetery
