Vivian Eunice Stortenbecker

Vivian Eunice Stortenbecker, age 95, was born June 30, 1920 on a farm south of Minden, Iowa. She was the daughter of Otto and Anna (Schutt) Kay. She attended country school near Minden. She married George Stortenbecker on March 25, 1942. They farmed south of Treynor until George's death at which time she moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. She passed away at Risen Son Christian Village where she had been a resident since June of 2008. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Council Bluffs. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter, Susan and brother, Roy Kay. Vivian is survived by her daughter Georgia Denton and husband Keith, granddaughter Eva Denton and grandson Ross Denton and wife Stephanie and great-granddaughters Lili and Sophia Denton. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by a luncheon in the community room. Interment will be later that afternoon in the Zion Congregational Church Cemetery in Treynor. Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ, Treynor Fire and Rescue or a favorite charity.
