Wallace Fredrick Corrin

Wallace Fredrick Wally Corrin, age 89, of Neola, Iowa passed away October 14, 2014. He was born at home on December 15, 1924 to the late Walter and Ella (Petersen) Corrin. He attended school at Neola where he played the clarinet in the band and was on the basketball team. His longtime friend, Richard Oltman and he travelled around performing odd jobs and then returned to Neola and spent his lifetime farming. One evening while at a dance in Minden, he met JoAnn Denning and they were married January 22, 1947. Wally enjoyed raising his Angus Cattle and counting them. He loved his farm and even made time to go on fishing trips every year. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Walter Corrin; son-in-law, Richard Wendt, DDS; brothers, Maurice Corrin and Freeman Corrin; sisters, Gladys Langin and Margaret Cook. Wally is survived by his wife of 67 years, JoAnn Corrin; children, Connie Caskey (Michael), Wayne Corrin (Theresa), William Corrin (Susan) and Kevin Corrin (Crystal Clevenger); grandchildren, Clifford Wendt (Lori), Diana Klein (Jeff), Patrick Wendt, Katherine Wendt-Garcia (Phillip), Angela Rodenburg (Heath), Chris Corrin (Shiloh), Marie Baker (Bill), Jesse Corrin (Karissa), Daniel Corrin, Nicole Corrin, Matthew Corrin, Michael Corrin and Steven Corrin; great grandchildren, Levi Wendt, Amber Wendt, Dillion Klein, Tyler Klein, Leo Garcia, Joslyn Garcia, Grace Garcia, Caitlin Rodenburg, Brenna Rodenburg, Alex Corrin, Kyla Corrin, Karis Corrin, Cael Corrin, Nathaniel Baker, Olivia Baker and James Corrin; great-great grandchild, Reece Galloway-Klein and a host of other family and friends. Visitation is Friday 5-7PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday 11AM at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Burial will be that afternoon in the Neola Township Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
