William Michael Lombard

William Michael Lombard, son of James E. and Edna (Boyce) Lombard was born April 14, 1948 in Omaha, NE. He passed from this world on February 25, 2016 at Bergan Mercy Hospital. Mike lived many years in and around Red Oak, Iowa, working as an auto mechanic and with Wilson Concrete, then in Omaha, working for Omaha Fixture, Speedway Scaffold and Safway Scaffold. Mike Was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Patricia Lombard and Rosemary Sparr. Five brothers: James, Lawrence, Joseph, Charlie and Robert. Step father Harry Lukehart, step sister Patricia Ottens, and step brother Kenneth Lukehart Mike is survived by his love of many years, Bonnie Johnson of Omaha, her sons and family: Brian Johnson, Debby Baker, and granddaughter Kali Shenandoah Johnson of North Platte, NE, and Paul Johnson and Amy Graybill of Council Bluffs, IA; Brother George Lombard and wife Carolyn of red Oak; Sisters: Carole McMullin and Husband Frank of Massena, IA; Nancy Swentor and husband Robert of Council Bluffs, IA; Sisters-in-law Patty Lombard of Omaha, NE and Myrna Lombard of Red Oak, IA; Step brothers: Jerry Lukehart and wife Chic of Bellevue, NE, Rick Lukehart and wife Debby of Red Oak, IA and Randy Lukehart of Clarksville, AR; Brothers-in-law Ray Robinson of Omaha, NE and Roy Robinson and wife Linda, of Elkhorn, NE; and sister-in-law Ginger Kula and husband John of Gretna, NE; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Mike's greatest joys in life were his wife, Bonnie and granddaughter Kali Shenandoah followed by making friends with his ever present smile, fishing (feeshin' to Mike, not that he caught many) and camping. Mike and Bonnie loved to travel and camp, they went many places, and took nieces and nephews with them on epic adventures to Texas and South Dakota, along with many trips with Paul and Amy to more local parks. Mike always enjoyed family gatherings and always livened up the party with a cheery thought or a naughty joke for all occasions. His engaging grin and willingness to talk to anybody made him a fixture of No Frills and of his neighborhood. Many people only knew him by his smile, wave, and goofy laugh the kindness of his soul brightening their day and all feel the sadness of his passing. We are grateful for the short time we had with this gentle soul who loved everybody, and whose special gift with kids and adventurous spirit enhanced the lives of so many.
